About Samsung Odyssey Ark 4K monitor
Samsung Odyssey Ark 4K monitor with 1000R curvature (meaning exactly the same curvature as an arc with a radius in the range of 1m/3.3ft). The resolution is 3,840 x 2,160px with an aspect ratio of 16:9 standard.
The panel makes use of Quantum Mini LEDs for local dimming (1,056 zones) and 14-bit processing. It has 16384 levels of black and an average contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. It is able to support “Quantum HDR 2000″, which means a maximum brightness of 22,000nits (with some Samsung marketing in there). The display comes with a matte finish to help reduce reflections and glare.
The display features the ability to refresh at 160Hz (with FreeSync Premium Pro support) and a 1ms gray-to-gray reaction time. If you’re playing older games and it’s possible that the Neural Quantum Processor Ultra will increase the resolution to 4K.
The stand that comes inside the box allows you to alter the tilt and height. In addition, there are three options for mounting to the wall (200×200 300×300, 400×400, and). In this mode of operation, the console allows you to tilt the screen 90deg to keep the bottom of the screen vertical, and the rest of the screen is suspended above.
Its Odyssey Arc has an impressive sound system inbuilt it – there are four speakers (one at each corner) and two woofers at the bottom, for an overall production of up to 60W (and an incredibly low-frequency response that is down to 45Hz).
The monitor comes with a variety of advanced features that are controlled using the Ark Dial remote control. The Ark can be as big as four 22.5” monitors. You could use it to have a borderless multi-monitor configuration (yes you can connect 4 HDMI inputs). If you turn it into Cockpit Mode, then you could have a vertical stack that includes three monitors.
Furthermore, you can use Flex Move Screen you can alter the size of the image from 55″ and 27″ and alter the aspect ratio of 16:9 through 21:9 and 32:9. Its Ark Dial is solar-powered like the remote controls found on modern Samsung TVs.
